Second, my kitchen table is back to looking like the before photo. In part this is because we started de-cluttering the living room and everything has to be somewhere. I hadn't meant to clean on Christmas Day, but I'd promised jebra I'd clear off the couch, and that lead to leafing through the new Ikea catalog. From there it was a short hop to wondering if it was possible to fit all of our DVDs on the existing shelving. The next thing I knew, I was moving boxes of computer and sound recording gear, tossing old magazines and junk mail into the recycling pile, and dusting. It took twelve hours, but I put away all the disks and got a bunch of other stuff out of the living room. Which isn't to say it's perfect -- there's still a *ton* of stuff we need to go through.
Cleaning also had the side-effect of making a few freecyclers happy. I not only posted four things up on our local freecycle mailing list, but found people wanting them. So that's four fewer things we don't need taking up valuable space in the house.
Almost no cleaning got done today, but that's because today was a regular work day for us and because I had to spend time getting ready for tonight's sleep test. It's been three years since my last sleep study and the doctor wants to check that his treatment plan is actually working.
