If you look closely, you can see my reflection on the red Christmas Ornament. The rectangular object is a shopping bag filled with newly-purchased yarn.

Festive!

A very merry Christmas, Audrey! I am home in Royal Oak for the holidays and thought of you as I drove up Campbell Road this morning!

How long are you in town? We need to get together while you're here!

I need to drive home Christmas day - alas, I ran out of vacation time - but I sure would like to see you if we can, especially since we missed each other at ZCon and we won't have another chance. When my sister gets here tomorrow I will know better what my schedule is. I will holler!

Please do. We're working tomorrow, though, so who knows if our schedules will mesh.

Doesn't he just? You should have seen him at the Grand Haven Tuba Christmas - he let his hair down, claiming it was more Santa-like.

I meant to do that for the Howell concert, too. I'd purposefully not braided my hair that morning, but forgot to take the bungies out before the performance.

Next time, for sure.

You're most welcome! And you know how much I love looking at all your pictures, it seems the least I can do is share a few of mine.

That is a really neat collage. I especially love the tree ornament.

What kinds of yarns did you get? My knitting is barely passable at its best, but I love beautiful yarns, just to look at, and caress, in their natural state. :-)))

I want to knit a Jayne Hat (from Firefly and Serenity) and bought Berroco "Ultra Alpaca," a 50/50 Wool/Alpaca blend. The colors aren't quite right, but the yarn is soft and I think I'll be able to wear the hat without my skin freaking out.

The next step is to get continental knitting down pat. Right now I'm having horrible problems with tension. I could knit it English, but that feels like it would be cheating as I promised not to knit anything until I got the hang of Continental.

Heh. I've got one of those bags, too. I think the scarf will be called the TubaChristmas Scarf. (Is pretty. about half done with the first ball, using a diagonal rib pattern. The orange mellowed a bit in the knitting, but is still orange!)

It was a good time. And travel conditions were much better than last weekend's.

Have a good holiday!

The yarn you showed me sure is gorgeous and I'm certain it'll make a striking scarf.

Hope you have a great holiday too!
