We went to see Forever Plaid at our community theatre this week. It's less of a play and more of a musical revue. To my surprise, I didn't dislike the music nearly as much as I feared. The cast did an excellent job but 50's and early 60's music is not my thing.
Friday night jebra went shopping while I stayed home to crochet and catch up on my shows. He was buying ingredients for the chicken and sausage jambalaya he would be making for Saturday's Mardi Gras/Carnival party. We had quite a feast: King Cake, Red Beans & Rice, Tripel Nova (Belgian from Ale Asylum in Madison), Chateau Chantal Riesling, the jamalaya, chicken/sausage jambalaya, étouffée, bread pudding, creole tomato salad, mufulettas, fettuccine alfredo, shrimp, and more. I found the baby in the King Cake and have already looked up recipes since I will be making a future King Cake.
In mom news, she seems to be doing reasonably well although she's worried about her kids. I have neuropathy and my sister has maintained radio silence for the past four weeks. Mom thinks she gets one more dose of chemotherapy before her 30 days without treatment starts. Then, theoretically, it will be a final round of treatment and she's done. She's not been messaging me either, but we think she's at home recovering and maybe even back to work.
