Project 52

Much to the delight of [personal profile] jebra, TubaChristmas season is here. He wanted his first TubaChristmas of the year to be the one in Toledo, on December 1st, but he was worn out from Thanksgiving travels and slept instead. I was glad of this as I worry about him as he constantly runs himself ragged. His first gig of the season was at Detroit's Central United Methodist Church. I went with him and knit throughout the rehearsal and the actual performance. Except during Jingle Bells, when I played his sleigh bells. He showed me how to play them in the break between rehearsal and concert, so I now know how they are actually played. You don't rattle them, but hold them handle-side up and smack the end of the handle with your other than. Easy-peasy and fun.

After the concert we drove over to Trader Joe's and figured out what to bring Fred & Laura's house for SEMGS. We settled on a Bourbon Barrel Cake. It was yummy but rich and more than a little alcoholic (at least by my standards). I thought it would put me in a carb coma and, sadly, I was right. I dozed through most of SEMGS, alternating between listening to the various conversations and being dead asleep.

Sunday was, joy, laundry day for me. [personal profile] jebra took himself to Ann Arbor for his second TubaChristmas. I got much laundry washed, dried, folded, and put away. And I finished another cat bed while he was gone.

I haven't called my mom and I should. Maybe later today.

I've also been fretting over what to do about Christmas gifts this year. I'm feeling both broke and out of ideas.
