I hope you all have a wonderful day, full of your favorite things. And for the X Files slashers among you, maddiec24 and I have posted a new story, Windermere to help celebrate.

I posted this as a reply to a comment of yours on my own LJ several days ago, but sometimes replies to replies don't get to the intended recipient, so I'm posting a copy here, just to be sure you got it. :-)))

"Okay, I just got home from work, and checked some of your stories out. At first I was a bit worried, because I never watched the A Team, and I'm totally a Mulder/Krycek fan. And you realize that a big part of enjoying fanfiction is belonging to the fandom to start with.

However, that wasn't a problem here. I love your writing style. Very lucid, open, lots of breathing room. That's how I describe the sort of writing I enjoy. That I feel I'm in the scene and can breathe. Does that make any sense? Probably not, but I mean it as a compliment.

Even though the stories I read were short, something happened in each of them. A mental journey, an emotional journey, a physical journey. So many fan fiction writers can't seem to grasp that concept.

I don't know who Murdock or Face are, but I started to like them and worry about them.

Thanks for giving me the URL to your website. I feel that I know you better now.

Take care,

(blushes) I've been remiss. Your message is in backlog of email and although I've read it twice, well, thrice counting the above, I've been waiting until I had time to craft a thoughtful response. For one thing, you gave me the type of feedback I most adore. And actually find helpful, which is even more rare. And yeah, I like my stories to tell a story. If you ask me, I'd say even PWPs need a plot in order to be interesting.

And your line about not knowing the characters but liking them and starting to worry, that's how I get sucked into new fandoms. I start caring about the characters and then just have to read more.

Thanks for the post. I enjoyed the read.

Not being an X-fan, and not knowing the characters, I figure any comments I have might not be appropriate, but ask ftf and I'll share (if you want).

It was peaceful, which suited me just fine. Families Follies, as my mom calls our family Christmas, won't be until the middle of January. Now that mom's sold the farm, we're scaling back on the madness. Before it wasn't just my mom's kids and their families, but also her siblings, their spouses, children, and grandchildren. Plus an assortment of cousins and ex's. This year I believe she's limiting invites to her children, grandchildren, and her grandchild.

How was your Christmas?
