I enjoyed the long Labor Day weekend, particularly Saturday when I took myself out to dinner after a long walk around the Madison Heights Civic Center playing Ingress.
Monday afternoon was great too as I got to watch all those horrible courtroom shows I love so much. I won't record them because they're pretty much mental popcorn and there is no way on earth I could watch them on a daily basis and keep up with the number of television hours I record every week. Come to think of it, over the weekend one of the things I did was clear out a bunch of shows I recorded last November.
At one point I didn't feel like watching any of the recordings and fell upon an episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life. I generally enjoy the methods Iyanla employs to illustrate the person's/family's issues, such as the time she had one of her clients haul around a sack of garden rocks. This time I was bemoaning how beautiful their home was and how small and ugly ours is in comparison; then it was revealed that the family couldn't afford their house and were not only surviving on credit cards but were on the verge of becoming homeless. Suddenly my own home didn't seem so bad.
