The big event of the week was Motor City Furry Con (MCFC). I worked security with the Dorsai Irregulars and finally finished knitting my sister-in-law's scarf. (No photos of the finished scarf yet -- I still need to weave in the ends and block it.)
This years, MCFC selected Animal Magic as the charity. I ended up supporting them a little more than anticipated as I couldn't let the opportunity to have my photo taken with Seven, their sloth, pass by. The way I'd intended to show my support was to put two of my cat beds into the auction. Which is what I did, but I was on duty when they came up for bid. I'm told them brought in $50, but I don't know if that's $50 total or $50 each.
The Furry Parade was great, you can see one small photo from it on the pages. I forgot to ask how many furries participated but there had to be several hundred. My favorite costume was the Fruit Bat; you can see her on one of today's pages as well. She was absolutely adorable. I also liked the horse sheriff -- he had hooves and that badge on his vest? That's either or grandfather or great-grandfather's actual Sheriff's badge.
