The pain in my right heel is not caused by a torn Achilles tendon, but rather an inflammation where the tendon meets the bone. In my case, this is a combination on bursitis (found this at the Mayo Clinic website) and something else that I can't figure out from my notes. The word sounded like "infanchus" but even google can't find anything close. Clearly I'm going to have to ask Dr LeBan about this the next time I see him. (Three months from now.)

Try 'Plantar fasciitis'(pain under the heel) or 'Achilles Insertional Tendinopathy'(pain in Achilles Tendon, near the heel). US spellings may, obviously, be different from UK *g*.
Otherwise Google what you think your diagnosis is with: 'differential diagnoses' to get an idea of conditions with similar signs and/or symptoms.
