I slept in, went over to Artisan Knits and hung out with my friends for a few hours, came home to swap cars with jebra, used my 50% coupon at JoAnn Fabrics (where I bought a $1 spool of ribbon and more darning needles including the spiffy curved ones), then came home and weeded both the garden in front of the house and the patio. I was outside until it started to get dark, came in and took a shower, had a bit of dinner, and then stuffed two small toy bears. They'd be done by now if I hadn't mislaid the black yarn I need for their eyes and noses. I searched all the likely places but so far the stuff is nowhere to be seen.

Another good thing was that three times I caught birds bathing in the pond. Birds can be surprisingly noisy bathers.

Wow. You get a lot done. Can you come garden for me? My butterfly garden needs weeding! (grin)

I also admire knitters. I never learned, and honestly don't have the time or the patience for it. But I do admire it.

I'm not sure I can take credit for getting a lot done. All you see in the photo is the part of the patio that leads to the pond. I still have the area behind the patio to weed, not to mention I have yet to work my way around the pond. Then there's the area between the garage and house to the north. And the herb garden I've been neglecting for the past three or four years....

As for knitting, I don't think it takes patience (although it does take some degree to learn), what it really requires is desire, dedication, and/or stubbornness. Do you do anything while you're watching the various sports you see on tv? If it were me, that's when I'd be knitting.

That's usually when I get things read that need to be read, like the mail, the newspaper, etc. And God knows, the way I clap my hands, whoop and holler, the knitting wouldn't be safe. (grin)

*grin* If I'm actually trying to watch something I cannot read at the same time. I get so wrapped up in reading that I won't hear or notice anything else going on. This also explains why there are stacks of unread mail and newspapers littering our living room.

It's good that you aren't trying to knit and clap at the same time. I have visions of a knitting needle impaling one of your hands!

Yeah, that's pretty much my vision, too. (grin)
