Aww, that's a lovely thought. Those Irish sure know how wax poetic. Happy St. Paddy's to you, too.

Happy St Paddy's Day to you! *hugs*

(All of my local fannish friends used to think I was Irish American b/c I loved Celtic art and I had pale skin, freckles, and lots of curly red hair. *g*)

Still sorting through old email... Anyway, I share your love of Celtic art. But I wanted to ask if you know where your red hair comes from (hopefully the answer isn't "a bottle!"). You're of, um, German ancestry, are you not?

Hey,Happy St Paddy's Day from thee years ago!!! You crack me up! :-)

So, yes, I am almost completely German, except for a teensy bit of (South of) France--so most of my grandparents were pale and blond-ish, but my mom and her brothers and sisters had an olive complexion like Mediterranean people,Neither my mom or dad know of any of their relatives who had red hair, but since it can often skip several generations, apparently both parents had the recessive gene in them.

I did color my hair red once or twice in recent years...but you can't do it for long past the age of 50; it just starts looking like Lucille Ball then. In my experience, nobody with red hair keeps that bright red beyond the age of 45.

If I could remember how to post pics to LJ, I'd include a pic of me as a kid with my red hair.
