He's hinted at this before, has said a bunch of times that he didn't want Lewis
to have more episodes than Morse
, so partners_r_more
and I figured there might only be a few more seasons. But really--Lewis has got to be quite a few years younger than KW, if you go by stuff in Morse (i.e, the apprximate ages of his children) and the fact that Val was born in '58. (I estimated that Lewis was a year older than his wife, but even if you up that by 3 years or so, he's still younger that Kevin, who is 4 years from retirement age.) ETA: From what he said in the vid, apparently police retirement age there must be 60-61, since he'll be 61 next month.
So there, Kevin! *g* Morse
had 33 episodes. Lewis
currently has (or soon will have aired) 24. At 4 eps a season, that's 2 more seasons, at which point Lewis can still retire early
And while there are, I'm sure, a whole bunch of people who would watch "Inspector Hathaway," I don't think Hathaway would hold my
interest without the relationship with Lewis (assuming Laurence Fox would even consider a follow-up series).
And now that that's off my chest, time to go do my taxes. ;-)Edited at 2012-01-18 10:58 pm (UTC)
