Is is just me, or do other people find it difficult to figure out how do to things like add lj-cuts and images to their posts? Today it's the gallery, er, ScrapBook feature that's giving me fits. I've added two new galleries, but one's stuck at the bottom. And I managed to delete the upload folder (whatever the blank folder was called) -- now when I add photos, they go to FB_Upload. I think.

If you use Firefox, consider using Deepest Sender.

I'm using plain old Mozilla. (According to 'help': Mozilla 1.4
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624)).

I looked up Deepest Sender on the web, and actually, it looks more confusing and icky to me than LJ's own screens. I like a stripped down interface. For example, my preferred editor is vim. No buttons, just fingers on the keyboard.

My problem seems to be in understanding what the various commands mean. I'll see it on the menu, think "oh, it does this!," invoke the command, and then have something unexpected occur. Like deleting the blank image gallery. I think that should should have been impossible -- but I did it.

Yeah, it's a GUI. I'm usually not fond of GUI's, but I find that my editing tasks are actually a lot easier to do with this one. It's missing some of the stuff that I'd usually do, so I switch to source view when necessary.

I think I misunderstood you. It sounds like your problems are with the LJ gallery stuff, not the base editor. I don't use their gallery currently - I use my personal webspace.
