We're back from our drive out to North Carolina for my nephew's wedding (and the drive from Greensboro to Indiana on Sunday, so that Jebra could wish his mom a happy mother's day in person).

Jebra (that wonderful man) did all the driving, which meant I could knit and crochet to my heart's content. I knit four scarves and crocheted a little bag for my cell phone charger while we were on the road.

In other news, my brother Rob is now officially engaged to his girlfriend.

I'm glad to be home and I know the cats feel the same way. They ran out of food while we were gone.

The road trip was also very, very pretty. Jebra even stopped at a scenic overlook for me (and at an amazingly beautiful rest area in West Virginia. For the most part the weather was good -- a few areas with overcast skies and a few raindrops, but when the heavy storm came we were inside having lunch and it was over by the time we headed back to the car.

That's a lot of driving, but it sounds like it was well worth it.

Since we live in the same town and all, if you ever need a catsitter, I'll be glad to help out. Send me an LJ message any time.

If we go for an extended trip (more than 4 days), I'll do just that. Thanks for making the offer.

You leave your babies ALONE when you go out of town? OMG. I usually try to get someone to stay in our house!

Well, I figure they're used to having the house to themselves as four days a week we're both out of the house and at work. Also, the house is alarmed for both intrusion and fire, so if something went *way* wrong, we'd know and the cats would likely be rescued.

They were! Often they give me the cold shoulder when we return, probably the kitty equivalent of "Leave me alone? I'll show *you!*" -- but when we come home and they're out of food, I get lots of kitty attention. Not that I'd make them go hungry on purpose -- I left them with a veritable mountain of food in each of their dishes. We've come back from trips before to find so much food left in their bowls that I didn't have to put out more for another two or three days.
