Hamish was mad at me as he hid until this morning. Now I hope he's home sleeping and recovering. I gave him his antibiotic and pain medicine before leaving for work, so he should be good.
The size of the incision does not even roughly correspond with the size of the tumor removed. The tumor itself was approximately the size of the erase on a standard #2 pencil. The idea is to remove enough of the surrounding tissue (and skin only, no muscle) that the tumor does not recur.
And if you notice a shaved spot on his other leg, that's because the vet wanted to make sure that the wart there wasn't another tumor.
