Dan's had a great idea, which he talks about in today's column (http://www.avclub.com/articles/september-22-2010,45429/?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=feeds&utm_source=type_savage-love).

Check out the youtube channel, particularly if you've been curious as to what his boyfriend looks like. (And, omg, their kid's 13 already -- it seems like it was only a year or two ago that they were adopting him.)

Thank you for that amazing link to Dan's YouTube project. I never would have seen it otherwise and I think it's a fantastic way to get a message out. I'll be talking about it far and wide -- if I saves even ONE life, it will SO be worth it.

Thanks for the link. They're so cute, and their message is so true -- and it applies to everyone who gets bullied in school, actually. I was bullied in school, and was completely miserable, and my life got so much better once I left school. Children can be so completely horrible that I can understand why certain religions believe they need to have the devil beaten out of them. :-)))

You're welcome. And, on an unrelated note, thanks for the invite to AO3. I'm already there, not that I've managed to port all my/my stories with Maddie there yet. It'll be easier if I edit the version on cruelhaven.org and import from there, but I haven't actually done so yet. I feel like I'm constantly playing triage, putting out the hottest fires.

As for kids being cruel, they sure can. And it doesn't have to wait for high school. When I was in 6th grade there was a kid who was picked on and called gay. I have no idea if he really was (or is, as I hope he's still alive). I was new to the area and had my own problems, I remember feeling bad for him but was simultaneously grateful that I wasn't the bullies' target. I was afraid to speak up and defend him. Now I can't even recall the kid's name and I think I feel equally bad for that (for not sticking up for him and for forgetting his name).

That's great that you're already on AO3, because I don't have any invites to hand out yet, though I certainly would have given you one, once I got it. :-)))

What's your username? Because I did look for you there. You write Skinner/Krycek, don't you? Didn't see your stories listed under that pairing, either. You probably announced that you were on AO3 earlier, and I forgot, because I'm brainless these days. :-)))

Yes, the bullying does indeed start way before high school. I don't remember kids being bullied for being gay when I was in school, probably because most kids didn't know there was such a thing when I was young. I know the word was still mostly a code and it was mostly only gay people who used it. I was already a Slasher, though, without knowing what it meant. :-)))

I had to look up AO3 in my password manager as I wasn't sure about the user name and I was completely wrong about the password. My user name on AO3 is Haven. I only have 3 stories up, all in The A-Team universe.

I really need to get off my ass and push my other stories over. But this weekend, as we'll be on the road again. We're off to Grand Rapids (Michigan) to look at art and see friends.

Ahhhh. That explains why I couldn't find you there. Forgot you wrote A-Team stories. :-)))

It is a bit time-consuming posting stories there. Well, I guess it is anywhere, but I'd forgotten how long it took on an archive. Filling in the necessary info and so on. I was all gung-ho for a few days, and then I got tired and just wanted to slap something silly in the required fields. It's not that I disagree with the required fields, it just gets boring after a while. I'm taking a break for a few days, I think. :-)))

Have a nice time in Grand Rapids!
