After our walk we had dinner with friends, and then while Jebra did whatever it was he did, I spent the remainder of the day knitting.
Saturday I slept in, then spent the afternoon transforming old sheets into balls of rag yarn. In the evening, we attended the Dorsai Irregular's Annual Banquet.
Sunday we had breakfast with the D.I., checked out from the hotel, and then came back inside to help clean up the consuite. Well, Jebra helped. I knit. When the room was mostly packed, I had Jebra take me to Bronner's, where amazingly, I didn't buy a thing. After that it was time to go home and spend some time with our kitties.
Monday was also a vacation day, so we slept in. Once we were up and ready, we went to the Michigan Humane Society to drop off the things I'd made for them.
Afterwards, we went to Walmart for an oil change. That took a few hours and there wasn't time to go out for dinner before band practice. On the bright side, I had some quality knitting time and I had a very interesting conversation with one of the other customers. He grew up in rural Virginia, and worked in the fields from when he was only seven years old until he graduated from High School. He said he graduated on a Friday, turned 18 the next day, and headed north to look for work on Sunday. He landed a job with General Motors and stayed there for many years. He also did missionary work in Ghana and told me a little about his time there.
I spent Monday night catching up on LJ and Dreamwidth, and went back to work today.
