We live and work in the suburbs of Detroit. Thursday, on my way out work, I noticed a very young fox skulking by the front door. We have (or possibly, had) a woodchuck living in the berm, and we've seen hawks hunting the birds who visit our bird-feeder, but I never expected to see anything as exotic as a wild fox.

Friday morning, on our way to the train station ([info]jebra is attending a U of C class reunion in Chicago this weekend and took the train), I noticed a couple standing in the nearly empty municipal parking lot lighting up a crack pipe.

*sigh*

AW! He's a proper baby!

Foxes are one of teh few species of wildlife we get to see round my way - obviously as soon as you get near the fields there are tons of rabbits, hares and pheasants, but the foxes come into the towns and can be spotted reasonably often - none so cute as this specimen though!

Ah, he looks like a young one! How very nice! Lovely souvenir page, too. =>}

We only see foxes at the cottage, although I'm sure they're around here, since we're right on the edge of the country. =>}

Very cool pic! Of course, I don't know if I'd recognize a crack pipe, but I hope I'd have recognized a fox.
