Two, but all I had to do yesterday was knit the ear flaps.

I figure I can complete a Jayne hat in about 5 1/2 hours -- but then I've had *lots* of practice. I made 22 of them for the California Browncoats, plus two others out of the alpaca/wool blend (those don't have homes yet).

I wish we lived closer together so you could teach me. I can do straight knit and crochet stiching but can't read and follow patterns. I really wish I had let my mother teach me her skills. She made such beautiful dresser scarves and doilies. She could also look at a picture and make her own pattern.

I wish we lived a whole lot closer too. I'd be happy to teach you what I know, but really, I still consider myself a beginner. If it weren't for mbumby and rmeidaking, I wouldn't have felt confident enough to tackle the projects I've undertaken thus far. I'm still intimidated by the idea of knitting a sweater. Which was, of course, the main reason I took up knitting the first place. I want a sweater like Starsky wore in the original Starsky & Hutch. (Although if I had half a brain, I'd try to locate one somewhere before putting all that effort in; I'd hate to spend that much effort on knitting something I shouldn't wear in public.)
