Authorities do not suspect foul play in death of man who disappeared in 2003

REVIEW-JOURNAL

Las Vegas police investigating the discovery of human remains in the desert east of Sunrise Mountain don't suspect foul play.

The skeletal remains found May 20 on Gypsum Mine Road were identified by the Clark County coroner's office as Chad Robert Lightle, 39. Lightle was reported missing in 2003. The report was filed with authorities in Michigan's Lapeer County, but Las Vegas officials have not yet confirmed the city and state of Lightle's origin.

The coroner's office reported Lightle's cause of death as undetermined.

Jose Montoya, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department, said Tuesday homicide detectives are involved in the case but that foul play is not believed to be a factor.

So sad. I guess in the long run, it'll be best to know one way or another. Then again, it's the end of hope as well. I'm so sorry.

*hugs back*

I do think it's better to know than to wonder, but I'm going to miss him. I miss him more now that I know he's really gone than I did before I got the email as then I'd always hoped and half-believed he'd come back to the family when he was ready.

That's a long time to be without knowing. I'm glad at least that you'll wonder no more. I can imagine how you'd just keep on hoping.

::many warm hugs::

Some. As the days go on I find I'm getting used the idea Chad's gone to a place he won't be able to return from. I'm going to miss the guy even though we weren't close as children. (There are ten years between us and I was caught up in my own teenage drama when my father married his mother and they came to live with us.)

That's such sad news. It must have been hard to go through. On the one hand, the hope is gone, but then wondering all the time must have been terrible, too.

Sorry for being so late in offering my condolences. I haven't been reading my friends list the last few weeks, and just caught up now. Take care.
