I had my allergy test this morning. And wouldn't you know, after four miserable days without anti-histamines, I barely reacted to *any* of the allergens they tried. I'm baffled, as I didn't take anything other than what the doc said was okay and I'm pretty sure that the last time I had one of these done, I reacted to more substances than I did today.

Happily, I'm not allergic to cats. Heartbreakingly, I *am* allergic to dogs. I wailed when I got that bit of news. I've been asking for a dog for years and now that we work up near the humane society, we were seriously giving consideration to either adopting or fostering.

Just for the record, today's results also show allergies to weeds, mold, and dust mites. We're still going to try allergy shots -- my first treatment should be this Saturday, but jebra's going off to some drum thing at Oakland University so I guess I won't be able to get that initial shot until next week.

Over the weekend, when I was feeling crappy and couldn't enjoy the wonderful weather, I finished knitting my first Jayne hat. I took photos of it this morning and planned to make a little page to put it on, but now I can't get GIMP to work. I have no idea why; it worked fine the last time brought it up.

Good luck with the allergy shots!

I'm sorry about the dog allergy. =<{

Me too. When I was a wee child, I begged my parents for a dog. They bought a toy poodle for the family when I was around 8 years old and I can't say I ever noticed any problems being around him. Or the other three dogs that joined the family when I was in high school -- a german shepherd, a shepherd-husky mix, and a shitz zu.

I love dogs -- the husband knows that if I see a dog anywhere within petting range I won't be able to resist. Probably my most common utterances while traveling in the car are "Oooh! Doggies!" and "Ooooh! Puppies!"

Often people with dog allergies CAN live with the breeds of dogs that don't shed, but instead need to be clipped once in awhile. Like poodles, Lhasa Apsos (Sparkle was 3/4's Lhasa Apso) and such. Maybe you could try one of those types of breed?

Until now, I've always had a dog. Now, since J. has retired and we want to be able to just up and go when whenever we want, I'll settle for our four "granddogs". *g*

Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry you're allergic to dogs. That would make me sad. J's allergic to weeds/mold/dust mites, too. i hope the shots help.

I'm allergic/having an allergic reaction to something. My hands and feet have been itching for *days*, and it's driving me crazy. No rash or breaking out, just itching. I'm hoping it was the antibiotic I was taking and it will stop as soon it's out of my system.

Oh man, itchy hands and feet are the worst! I had problems with an itchy left foot just last week. I have no idea why it was acting up, but it would itch like crazy when I was watching tv or, worse, laying down and trying to get to sleep. I hope the itchiness stops *soon.*

Oats? Well, I suppose if there are wheat allergies there are oat allergies as well, but I can't say I've ever heard of anyone having one before. Do you have to keep oats out of your diet as well as staying away from oat pollen?

It's reassuring to hear the shots help. I'm so sick of continuous post-nasal drip it'll be worth the hassle of weekly shots if that stops.
