I wanted your card to have the same attention to detail as your drawings. I spent several weeks mulling over what I wanted to try to do, an unknown amount of time surfing around the web for art I could use or alter for the various graphic elements over the next few weeks, then fourteen hours assembling my finds into the finished piece. For example, the pink slip is accurate for the late 1970s, the spark plugs are ones that are really used in Starsky's car, and the wrench is a size that's actually used in working on the car. The photo of the engine is an actual Torino engine. The photo of the car on the beach is a manipulation, there, I combined a picture of Venice Beach with a photo of a Torino that had the right body style, paint job, and shadows I could work with.
